# Equivalent Fractions

- Equivalent Fractions
- Equivalent fractions are fractions that have the same amount.
- Use equivalent fractions to add, subtract, and compare fractions.

- Example:

- Since there is an equal sign between two fractions
- So the relation of these two fractions is equal to each other
- So this is an equivalent fractions problem
- The denominator of the fraction in the left side is 7
- The denominator of the fraction in the right side is 63
- Since 7 × 9 = 63
- So c = 6 × 9 = 54

- That is, 6/7 = 54/63.
- That is, 6/7 and 54/63 are two equivalent fractions.

- Note:
- The fraction 6/7 is the simplest form of a fraction
- The fraction 54/63 has a common factor 9
- So the farction 54/63 is not the simplest form.
